B.E.A.S.T. Benediction ($18.95, add $2 for Truffled Garlic Parmesan Potatoes)

My Cafe in Kapolei has become a flourishing neighborhood eatery satisfying breakfast and lunch cravings since it opened its doors in 2014.

There’s additional exciting news about the restaurant — owner Mark Nakagawa shares that My Cafe recently updated its menu with some new mouthwatering items, such as the Banana Mac Nut Waffle and the hefty benedict known as the B.E.A.S.T. Benediction. They are dishes that used to be daily specials but became so popular that Nakagawa decided to add them to the menu.

A colorful masterpiece, the B.E.A.S.T. Benediction ($18.95) is a delicious benedict dish that combines a smorgasbord of bacon, egg, avocado, spinach and tomato smothered in hollandaise. The benedict is served on a thick-sliced grilled sourdough baguette from Hawaii Star Bakery. This menu item can be upgraded with accompanying Truffled Garlic Parmesan Potatoes for an additional $2.

The restaurant has also begun serving juicy burgers and local style plate lunches, Nakagawa adds.

He explains that he and his wife took over ownership of the business a year and a half ago, after Nakagawa worked as its kitchen manager.

“Our goal is to serve high quality food items — local favorites with a twist — and to take care of our customers like family,” Nakagawa says.

THE SWEET LIFE

My Cafe can certainly satiate your sweet tooth with its Banana Mac Nut Waffle ($13.95). The sumptuous large waffle gets topped with homemade sea salt caramel, toasted macadamia nuts and sliced bananas. It then receives its crowning glory by being capped with a generous dollop of richly satisfying macadamia nut ice cream.
