Three of Hawaii’s notable companies are joining forces to bring consumers a heightened tasteful experience through a simple product that is actually many people’s saving grace — coffee.

7-Eleven Hawaii, along with Hawaiian Airlines and Hawaii Coffee Co. are bringing an exclusive Lion Coffee blend that can only be found on Hawaiian Airlines’ flights and, for a limited time, also at 7-Eleven Hawaii convenience stores across the state.

“It started as an initial partnership with 7-Eleven Hawaii and Hawaiian Airlines’ Hawaiian-Miles program,” explains 7-Eleven Hawaii’s category manager Annika Streng, adding that customers with a Hawaiian Airlines Mastercard or Hawaiian Airlines Bankoh Visa Debit Card earn an additional two bonus miles per $1 spent with a minimum $11 purchase at 7-Eleven Hawaii.

Take Flight!
A Lion Coffee dark French roast coffee, made with 100 percent Arabica beans, is served exclusively on Hawaiian Airlines’ flights, but will be available in 7-Eleven Hawaii stores for purchase by the cup until Aug. 31.

On the flipside, “Hawaiian Airlines already offered Lion Coffee as one of the in-flight products,” Streng continues. “So, since Hawaiian Airlines already had a working relationship with Lion Coffee, and also with 7-Eleven Hawaii, the opportunity to work together was created.”

The blend being offered is a dark French roast made with 100 percent Arabica beans. As a more full-bodied richer blend, it has been taste tested and approved to entice palates at any altitude.

“The coffee blend that we developed for Hawaiian Airlines takes into consideration that your taste buds become dulled at altitude,” shares vice president of sales at Hawaii Coffee Co. James Lenhart, “so we wanted to create a blend that is rich and full-bodied and will be enjoyed at both altitude and sea level.”

Lion Coffee promised Hawaiian Airlines that this blend would be exclusive to the company. Following the collaboration between all three businesses, the airline gave 7-Eleven Hawaii permission for the coffee to be available to purchase by the cup at its stores.

7-Eleven Hawaii customers can get their hands on this limited time offer until the end of August. After that, it will be available only on Hawaiian Airlines’ flights.

“Bringing onboard a local, trusted brand like Lion Coffee is another unique opportunity for our guests to indulge in the flavors of Hawaii throughout their travel experience, all the while experiencing our award-winning genuine Hawaiian hospitality,” says Hawaiian Airlines’ Hawaiian-Miles managing director Bryan Kapeckas. “Our entire inflight experience is based on the sights, sounds, and tastes of the Hawaiian Islands. Lion Coffee’s rich, aromatic coffee blend is the perfect complement to our existing menu of island-inspired beverages and cuisine.”

If you don’t have a trip planned anytime soon or if you just want to be stimulated by a winning cup of joe, be sure to not miss your chance to sip on soul-warming, Hawaiian Airlines Exclusive Blend, a Lion Coffee dark French roast available for purchase at 7-Eleven Hawaii locations until Aug. 31. Plus, with the Hawaiian-Miles program, there’s even more benefits to soak in for both your next vacation on Hawaiian Airlines and for snack time with 7-Eleven’s myriad of appetizing selections.
