GRYLT, with locations at Kahala Mall and Kailua Shopping Center, has garnered esteem across Oahu for its nutritious, fresh-grilled eats that taste delicious.

Jose Arias, corporate executive chef, emphasizes that the restaurants are focused on high quality ingredients and creating straightforward food that lets customers know exactly what they’re putting in their body.

For instance, he stresses that the restaurant only uses Hawaiian sea salt and pepper to season all its proteins, because the caliber of the meat and seafood is so high. He adds that the process of grilling infuses each dish with an intensity of flavor in GRYLT’s protein without unneeded calories. The company’s Angus steak is carefully aged for 45 days to impart excellent texture, notes Arias. What’s more, GRYLT uses wild-caught ahi in its dishes. This fish is usually cooked to a sear but the restaurant staff can prepare any of the proteins at a temperature to suit customers’ taste buds. The company also utilizes as much locally grown produce as possible.

Some of the creations GRYLT has been known for are the Fish Tacos, the Signature Salad packed with veggies and choice of proteins, and the juicy Angus Cheeseburger.

Due to a philosophy of transparency started by GRYLT owners Allen and Mayu Farinas, Arias shares that employees at GRYLT are able to explain all the ingredients in menu items to advise those who have allergies or special diets.

“We’ve got a little bit of everything for everyone,” Arias says.

Another exciting aspect of the company is its healthy, chef-crafted prepared meals known as Built By GRYLT. These items are available to be ordered by people on the go, who seek to maintain their wise eating choices.

A native of New York, Arias earned degrees in wellness and sustainability and food service management from prestigious Johnson & Wales University, and has happily landed here in Hawaii to contribute his skills at GRYLT.

BOUNTY FROM THE LAND AND WATER

One extremely popular menu item at GRYLT is the Surf and Turf Plate (starting at $16). Customers can choose from proteins such as steak, chicken, tofu, ahi, shrimp or salmon. The plates include a choice of white or brown rice. In addition, mashed potatoes or cauliflower can be ordered for $1 more. Customers can also get sautéed garden vegetables or a Caesar salad. In addition, guests can also choose two of the eatery’s delectable in-house sauces made from scratch. They include Asian fusion, roasted garlic chili, citrus herb or barbecue.
