With a diverse selection of local-style comfort food and classic dishes available throughout the day at affordable prices, New Eagle Cafe serves as a go-to dining destination for the entire family. The popular eatery continues a local culinary tradition that spans more than eight decades, and is situated in Nimitz Center along Nimitz Highway in the heart of Honolulu’s bustling business and industrial district.

Owner Tae Im continues the restaurant’s legacy of serving flavorful favorites accompanied by excellent customer service in a “friendly, inviting, local-style atmosphere.”

SWEET & SOUR SPARERIBS ($16.50) – Available only on Tuesdays

New Eagle Cafe is also known for its delicious entree specials served throughout the week and on weekends for lunch and dinner on a rotating basis. Sweet & Sour Spare-ribs ($16.50, available on Tuesdays) are cooked to tender perfection in a hearty gravy infused with vinegar, shoyu and pineapple. The daily specials are served with a choice of white rice, brown rice, mashed potatoes or fries.

The restaurant also offers complete meal sets like Chicken Katsu Teishoku ($29), which includes the perfectly cooked, golden-fried breaded chicken and a tangy karaage sauce served alongside shrimp and vegetable tempura, ahi sashimi, miso soup, rice, tsukemono, tossed salad and a beverage.

Beef Liver ($17) is another go-to customer favorite served with onions and bacon. The liver and other entree selections are accompanied by a choice of white rice, brown rice, mashed potatoes or fries and hot vegetables with select meal choices.

In addition to the excellent value offered via so many stellar a la carte selections, diners can also take advantage of New Eagle Cafe’s “complete meal deal” for an additional $6 coupled with any lunch or dinner entree purchase. With the meal deal, customers receive a choice of tossed house salad, soup of the day or miso soup along with a selection of coffee, hot tea, iced tea or a fountain drink (one free refill) as well as one’s pick of various homemade pies, ice cream, sherbet or Jell-O for dessert.
