A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: ROAST SPARE RIBS ($11.95)
Kapolei Chinese Restaurant has a new management team who is all geared up and ready to go as it churns out irresistible, authentic dishes to the people of West Oahu and beyond.
Owner Vincent Lum explains that he recently purchased the restaurant last month on Nov. 1. Heading the kitchen is chef Li Wei Zhang, who was co-owner and chef of Lam’s Garden in Kahala Mall prior to joining the Kapolei Chinese team. When Lam’s Garden closed down many of its customers were “looking for chef Zhang’s taste,” explains Lum.
With that, the team wants people to know that Zhang is back in the kitchen and cooking up some of the best South
Chinese Cantonese dishes on the island. “At Kapolei Chinese Restaurant, our patrons are delighted with the mildly spicy dishes, which are presented by our exacting dining room staff in an atmosphere of relaxed comfort,” says Lum.
The restaurant’s extensive menu boasts an array of familiar favorites as well as unique specialty items.
“We have Hong Kong-style dishes but also cater to the taste of locals,” continues Lum.
There’s lots to discover at this revitalized Asian eatery and with just one step in, you’ll feel the welcoming vibes from the friendly staff.
“Each succulent morsel of every Cantonese course at Kapolei Chinese Restaurant stimulates a taste for more!” concludes Lum. He also reminds customers that takeout service is available through phone or in person.
Roast Spare Ribs hits all the right spots with its slightly sweet flavoring, tender meat and jerky-like outer layer. The charred edges are especially fun to eat!
