THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: SIZZLING PRIME TIME MENU (STARTING AT $54.95)

For nearly 30 years, Ruth’s Chris Steak House has served as a reliable go-to for Hawaii residents and visitors to enjoy an elevated yet comfortable dining experience. As its name entails, the restaurant fires up juicy hunks of premium steak along with other quality proteins and seafood.

“If you love steak, this is the place to be,” states executive chef Eser Domingo. “The steaks are 24 days wet aged. They’re flown fresh every Monday and Thursday. It’s basically the prime steak, top 3 percent of all beef that’s been produced. They are broiled at 1,800 degrees and served on a 500-degree plate.”

Customers can find this premium grade cuisine at two Ruth’s Chris locations, one in Waikiki and the other in Waterfront Plaza, both of which offer exquisite atmospheres. For those who go early, catch the Sizzling Prime Time Menu from opening (4:30 p.m. Waikiki, 5 p.m. Waterfront) to 6 p.m.

The three-course meal comes at two prices depending on the entrees chosen and is accompanied by a starter and dessert. The $54.95 option comes with the choice of Petite Filet (8-ounce), Chef’s Fish Selection or Stuffed Chicken Breast. Meanwhile for $64.95, choose between Filet (11-ounce), New York Strip (16-ounce) or Ribeye (16-ounce).

Dessert selections include either Haagen-Dazs ice cream or sorbet, or White Chocolate Bread Pudding. Guests also may upgrade to any dessert for a small charge.

In addition to this smashing deal, the steakhouse further offers happy hour daily from open to 7 p.m., plus 25 percent off bottles of wine on Wednesdays. Stop into Ruth’s Chris for a casual happy hour or for an elegant dinner and revel in the intimate environment and superb customer service. “I’ve been here for five wonderful years and I love it,” concludes Domingo, and he along with the rest of his staff make it a point that guests will too.

Pleasant pairings

Each meal is accompanied by a side of either garlic mashed potatoes, steamed white rice or creamed spinach. The spinach comprises butter, flour, cream, and seasoning for a smooth, warm bite.

This sizzling 16-ounce, well-marbled slab of USDA Prime ribeye is a popular favorite, but there also are five other mouthwatering selections to choose from of various steak cuts, chicken and fish.

A crisp beginning

The three-course meal starts off with choice of Caesar Salad, or a Steak House Salad (pictured) topped with garlic croutons, red onions and grape tomatoes.
