The Classic Combo ($17.49)

As Hawaii’s dining out options continue to grow, a welcomed franchise that finally made its way to the islands is Applebee’s Grill & Bar. The popular American diner is slowly but surely spanning its presence across the state, as it now has two locations, one in Pearlridge Center and another in Ka Makana Alii.

The eatery offers big bites that locals have grown to love. One of them is Double-Glazed Baby Back Ribs ($23.99), which brings a hefty rack of ribs covered in one’s choice of Honey BBQ sauce or Spicy Texas BBQ Sauce to the table — restaurant manager Thomas Lapean mentions the latter selection provides a nice kick.

He further explains the fall-off-the-bone ribs are steamed for more than two hours, then cooked on the grill and brushed with the chosen sauce. The result is a beautiful, glistening rack of protein that is perfectly charred on the sides — be sure not to skimp on the bib for this one.

Shrimp ‘N Parmesan Sirloin ($24.99) is another option that will leave diners wanting more. The 8-ounce USDA Select top sirloin slab is scattered with blackened shrimp and a smooth lemon butter Parmesan sauce.

The aforementioned dishes also come with guests’ choice of two sides. Options are Garlicky Green Beans, Steamed Broccoli, Classic Fries, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Baked Potato, Four-Cheese Mac & Cheese with Bacon or Fire-Grilled Veggies. Lapean shares that any of the sides also can be upgraded to be “fully-loaded” for a small extra charge.

For a fun start to the meal, go for Applebee’s crowd favorite, The Classic Combo. For just $17.49 munch and crunch on Boneless Wings, Chicken Quesadilla, Mozzarella Sticks and Spinach & Artichoke Dip with bottomless chips.

And, whether you are a football fan or otherwise, you’ll still find yourself enjoying the grill and bar’s upcoming “football package” for the 2018-2019 NFL season. Applebee’s soon will start serving breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. on Sundays during the beloved sport’s season. Additionally, the bar will be offering drink specials for those looking to get an extra pump of excitement to celebrate and cheer during games.

Gather friends and family and head to Applebee’s for a memorable time and filling eats. The only disappointment to be had is that the meal ever ended, but then again, you can always come back for more!
