Celebrate Dad With These Special Offerings

As Father’s Day approaches, Zippy’s Restaurants will serve as a celebration destination by serving up a popular dine-in special crafted to appease the appetites of local families.

The talented culinary team at Zippy’s has created a delectable three-course meal that starts off with a dinner roll, choice of soup or tossed salad, and one’s selection of a large soft drink or coffee. Braised Boneless Short Ribs ($25.95, restaurant only) is a complete meal featuring slow-braised tender short ribs topped with jardiniere sauce and served with macaroni salad and a choice of starch.

To conclude the hearty meal, diners may choose from Strawberry Shortcake Fantasy, Brownie Delite — a chocolate or whole wheat brownie topped with a scoop of ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, chopped nuts and a maraschino cherry — or Napple a la Mode for dessert. This can’t-miss Father’s Day special is available Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Zippy’s dine-in restaurants only, while supplies last (meal prices may vary at different Zippy’s locations).

Zippy’s is partnering with Special Olympics Hawaii to raise funds and awareness for the organization as it celebrates 50 years of serving the local community. There are three ways for diners and their families to show support for the campaign, which runs through July 31. First, pick up a Kokua Pac Star Edition for only $8.12 at the fast food counter and $9.35 in the restaurant. The special includes Korean fried chicken, breaded shrimp, Portuguese sausage, Spam and takuan over rice. Guests may also purchase a Special Olympics Hawaii cutout for $1 each, and can also donate to designated boxes at each Zippy’s location.

Kokua Pac ($8.12 fast food, $9.35 restaurant)

Through June 30, and while supplies last, pick up Zippy’s Mini Barbecue Chicken plate for just $6.50 at Oahu fast-food counters only. This local favorite includes the restaurant’s famous golden fried chicken tossed in King’s Hawaiian Barbecue Sauce along with rice and macaroni salad, and is available from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., while supplies last.

Additionally, from June 11 through July 31, diners who purchase a plate lunch, mini plate or daily special also can add a medium Pepsi for just 96 cents at the fast food counter.

Zippy’s continues to feature innovative salad options to complement its extensive menu, including Fresh Strawberry Salad ($8.75, restaurant only). Available now through June 30, this salad incorporates Kunia Farms aquaponic greens topped with fresh strawberry slices, sliced almonds and a sweet vinaigrette dressing.
