Big City Diner celebrates 20 years of service. And with a menu that appeals to any audience, even the pickiest of eaters, there’s no wonder why.

The locally owned company started off in 1998 with its Kaimuki eatery and has since expanded to five more locations across Oahu, including Kailua, Pearlridge East, Waipio Shopping Center, Ward Entertainment Center and Windward Mall.

Feeding hungry locals around the island is not an easy task to tackle, however, Big City Diner has no problem doing so from morning to night. In fact, Big City helps customers kick off their day with special breakfast menu items Monday-Friday from 7 to 10:30 a.m. and until 11 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. In addition, the restaurant also features an all-day breakfast menu.

“We also do breakfast catering,” shares owner Lane Muraoka.

A variety of breakfast platter menus are available for either pickup or delivery, he adds.

What’s more, Big City Diner serves guests fresh, local products such as the highest quality Kamiya and Kahuku papayas. The restaurant also grinds whole beans for its Kona blend of coffee from Hawaii Coffee Company.

IT’S A BREAKFAST BONANZA

Hot from the griddle, Big City Diner’s Roasted Macadamia Nut Pancakes with Haupia Creme Sauce ($9.99 Big Stack, $8.99 “Not So Big”) surely will put you in a good mood. The fluffy mound of nutty deliciousness features old-fashioned pancakes, roasted Mauna Loa macadamia nuts and mouthwatering haupia creme sauce.

Big City Diner also serves a special cake for the keiki, Mr. Chipper ($4.99), a chocolate chip pancake served with real whipped cream. This treat will put a smile on any face.
