Take heart, indulge in the endless ‘pasta’-bilities this Valentine’s

Settimana D’Amore ($59 per couple) with a bottle of wine ($25 additional cost)

Add some flavor to your Day of Love with Romano’s Macaroni Grill, as the eatery is offering a lovely three-course meal until Feb. 14. The menu, called Settimana D’Amore — which conveniently translates to “week of love” in Italian — presents guests with a pleasant appetizer, choice of two savory entrees and a decadent dolce, or dessert, all for $59 per couple.

“It’s a really great deal, and at a good value,” says Nawai Kekoolani, regional general manager of Macaroni Grill Hawaii, about the Valentine’s menu. “Everything is (big enough) to share. It’s definitely not small portions, that’s for sure.”

Tiramisu

The menu’s delightful starters will certainly set the mood, and the appetite, with choices that include Crispy Artichokes, Calamari Fritti, and Bruschetta — just to name a few.

For an additional $25, Romano’s will add a bottle of wine from the exclusive Valentine’s menu selection. It is the perfect filler to sip on while nibbling on your choice of appetizer as you wait for the next course to make its way to the table.

Shrimp Scampi

Options from the main course will have you head over heels with dishes like Chicken Scaloppine and Shrimp Scampi, among others. Both selections come with a light butter sauce that is not overwhelming and allows diners to savor and appreciate the other ingredients in the pastas.

Scaloppine is prepared with a lemon butter sauce and is loaded with artichokes, mushrooms, capers, prosciutto, capellini and generous cuts of chicken. Meanwhile, the scampi comes with a bountiful pile of jumbo shrimp prepped in a rosemary butter sauce with Roma tomatoes, capellini and garlic.

Bruschetta

Conclude your meal with a sweet surprise and opt for Tiramisu. The layered dessert provides a heavenly indulgence that is not too sweet or heavy, but just right with a light taste of espresso, rum and cocoa.

While love deserves tenderness and care year-round, Valentine’s Day is the time to pay a little extra attention to that special someone. Celebrate the occasion with Romano’s and you and your sweetheart will have full hearts and tummies.
