By serving up a diverse array of local-style comfort food and classic dishes at affordable prices, New Eagle Cafe continues to serve as a dining mainstay for multiple generations of hungry patrons.

The popular eatery continues a local dining tradition that spans more than eight decades, and is situated in Nimitz Center along Nimitz Highway in the heart of Honolulu’s bustling business and industrial district. Owner Tae Im continues the restaurant’s legacy of serving island-style favorites accompanied by excellent customer service.

New Eagle Cafe is known for its delicious lunch and dinner entrée specials served throughout the week and on weekends. Kimchee Fried Rice with Chicken Yakitori or Beef Teriyaki ($14.95) is a popular choice available as a special selection Monday through Friday. The hearty portion of kimchee is chock-full of delicious flavors and vegetables, and pairs nicely with the chicken or beef.

All daily specials are served with patrons’ choice of white rice, brown rice, mashed potatoes or french fries.

Sauteed Ono ($14.75) pairs the tender, white fish with a choice of savory butter caper or mushroom sauce. Eagle Burger ($11.55) offers a homemade hamburger patty with lettuce, onion, tomato, avocado and alfalfa sprouts, all between the bun. The aforementioned selections are accompanied by hot vegetables and a choice of white rice, brown rice, mashed potatoes or fries.

In addition to the excellent value offered via so many choice a la carte selections, diners can also take advantage of New Eagle Cafe’s “complete meal deal” for an additional $5 coupled with any lunch or dinner entree purchase. With the meal deal, customers receive a choice of tossed house salad, soup of the day or miso soup, along with a selection of coffee, hot tea, iced tea or a fountain drink, as well as one’s pick of various homemade pies, ice cream, sherbet or Jell-O for dessert.

“We offer a friendly, local-style atmosphere,” says Im. “I definitely want to continue the tradition of the restaurant and carry the torch.”
