Just because the holiday season is over doesn’t mean you have to stop feasting on indulgent fare. If you’re looking to continue the eating festivities, Mapunapuna’s Kau Kau Grill has got you covered, serving up platefuls of local, flavor-packed meals.
What’s more, starting tomorrow, the eatery also will be offering mini-plate options for those looking to cut back on their portion sizes, but still satisfy their Kau Kau cravings.
Also new in 2018, co-owner Ty Takishita confirms that the establishment will finally be raising its prices tomorrow — but only by a little bit. You’ll still be able to snag all your favorites, such as “Trust Us Special,” Garlic Shrimp, Poke Bowl, Smoked Meat and Any 2 Choice Combo, without feeling like you’ve overpaid. And really, the ono items on the menu are worth every penny, and always have been.
Switch out regular white rice for Kau Kau Grill’s Krazy Rice ($1 more per scoop), which includes out-of-this-world flavors from the Barbecue Baby Back Rib sauce.
Reeling for ribs
Put your faith in Kau Kau Grill’s Barbecue Baby Back Ribs, which are fall-off-the-bone tender and slathered in an irresistible, finger-licking good barbecue sauce.
A side of mac
To balance out the surge of savory and tangy flavors, the plate lunch comes with creamy spaghetti mac salad — or you could opt for tossed greens instead.
Bring on the garlic
A handful of butterflied shrimp are cooked in a special garlic sauce and absolutely no butter — it’s the way the eatery prefers it, and there are zero complaints here!
