Kau Kau Grill in Mapunapuna has created a buzz for its famous Barbecue Baby Back Ribs ($10) and other local-style favorites.
“We slow cook it in our own special barbecue sauce, and then grill it to perfection,” says co-owner Miles Oyasato about the beloved ribs. “It just falls off the bone.”
Also popular is the Garlic Shrimp ($10) plate featuring butterflied shrimp sauteed in a house special garlic sauce. “We don’t use butter,” Oyasato notes. “It’s how we like it. The butterfly shrimp holds the flavor and is easy to eat.”
Both plates are served with one scoop of white rice (or substitute Krazy rice for $2 more) and your choice of tossed or mac salad.
