A surefire way to combat this chilly winter season is to warm yourself up from the inside out, starting with a steamy pot of soup from Sweet Home Cafe.
Customers can pick out their choices of broth and accompaniments, from seafood, pork and vegetarian selections to starches and homemade sauces, before they cozy around the hot pot.
And with every meal comes the restaurant’s famous, complimentary shave ice — which includes a range of flavors, such as bubble-gum, banana, strawberry and lime syrup; and toppings, like coffee pudding and mochi, for example.
What’s more, the eatery can cater to all customers by offering alternatives, like vegan-friendly options or gluten-free syrups, so that everyone can jump right in and indulge in all the sweet treasures.
A SLEIGH OF SURPRISES
Sweet Home Cafe’s Moiliili location keeps customers coming back for more bowls by catering to its regular kamaaina customers. The eatery likes to fire things up on occasion by showcasing two new broths on the specials board. Right now, enjoy Winter Storm ($9.95), a creamy chicken and clam broth, which is likened to clam chowder, with chili oil and Parmesan cheese; and Volcano ($8.95) a spicy, Korean-style mix of fresh red and green chilies, leek, celery, onion and roasted chili oil.
