Founded in 1980, Applebee’s Grill & Bar has grown to approximately 2,000 locations in neighborhoods throughout North America, including its first Hawaii eatery that opened in Ewa last October, and, more recently, at Ka Makana Alii in Kapolei in April.
Focused on serving “good food to good people,” the casual, family-friendly restaurant offers classic American cuisine, such as burgers, sandwiches, steak and pasta.
It’s also popular for its full-service bar, especially during football season when customers can watch NFL games on large flat-screen TVs displayed throughout the restaurant.
A special happy hour menu also is available at the bar all day, or enjoy happy hour specials in the dining room twice a day from 3 to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to closing daily.
DINER’S TOP PICKS
Taste a little bit of everything at Applebee’s with The Classic Combo ($16.50), a sampler of the eatery’s most popular appetizers, including mozzarella sticks, spinach and artichoke dip (with homemade tortilla chips), chicken quesadilla and boneless wings.
Another customer favorite is Sirloin Stir-fry ($15.49), featuring USDA Choice top sirloin and assorted veggies, topped with wonton strips and served over a bed of white rice with an original sweet-and-spicy dumpling sauce.
