In continuation of a local dining tradition that spans multiple generations, New Eagle Cafe continues to serve up local-style comfort food at affordable prices, and remains a mainstay for hungry families.

The popular dining destination in Nimitz Center is conveniently situated along Nimitz Highway in the heart of Honolulu’s bustling business and industrial district. Owner Tae Im continues the restaurant’s legacy of serving stellar Island favorites and providing excellent customer service.

“We offer a friendly, local-style atmosphere,” says Im, who is committed to continuing the tradition of serving kamaaina and visitors alike. “I definitely want to continue the tradition of the restaurant and carry the torch.”

Customers can enjoy New Eagle Cafe’s breakfast menu available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon, and from 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday and Sunday. Mahimahi and Eggs ($12.35) features the lightly battered white, tender fish accompanied by two freshly cooked eggs, as well as tartar sauce and lemon. Early risers also rave about Western Omelet ($9.85, add 50 cents for cheese), which is crafted to order with a hearty blend of onions, bell peppers, diced tomatoes and ham.

These and other breakfast entrees come with one’s choice of white rice, brown rice, hash browns or toast. And, during the weekend, fried rice can be substituted for an additional $1.75.

From 11 a.m. to closing, lunch and dinner entrees take the spotlight at New Eagle. Old Fashioned Rib Steak ($20.50) never goes out of style, as the succulent ribeye is cooked to perfection and paired with mushrooms and onions. Beef Liver ($14.25) is another customer favorite that is served with onions and, of course, bacon.

The aforementioned selections are accompanied by a choice of white rice, brown rice, mashed potatoes or fries, and hot vegetables.

In addition to the excellent value offered via so many delicious a la carte selections, diners also can take advantage of New Eagle’s “complete meal deal” for an additional $4.75 coupled with any lunch or dinner entree purchase. With the meal deal, customers receive a choice of tossed house salad or soup of the day along with a selection of coffee, hot tea, iced tea or a fountain drink, as well as one’s pick of various pies, ice cream, sherbet or Jell-O for dessert.

Customers also can enjoy the eatery’s “cut above the rest” special of Roast Prime Rib for Two ($47, add $9.70 per slice for a double cut), which includes tossed salad or soup of the day, a beverage and dessert for two diners.
