Ruth’s Chris Steak House is world-renowned for its steaks, selected from the top 2 percent of the country’s beef and served on 500 degree sizzling plates that keep it hot all the way until your last bite.

Described as showcasing New Orleans-inspired cuisine, the restaurant features the finest USDA Prime steaks and fresh seafood, complemented with an award-winning wine list, as well as a wide variety of appetizers and desserts. The Hawaii restaurants also offer fresh island seafood, including chef’s island fish daily specials.

“It’s fine dining at its prime — whether celebrating a birthday, anniversary or any milestone, Ruth’s Chris Steak House is the perfect place to celebrate,” says Emi Espinda, director of sales and marketing for the restaurant. “Enjoy unparalleled cuisine, sumptuous surroundings and service that’s accomplished.

“Every Ruth’s Chris Steak House is run by (founder) Ruth Fertel’s own philosophy that real Southern hospitality makes even the best steaks taste better,” she continues. “Life’s too short to eat anywhere else.”

Among the specialty cuts that are sure to impress is Tomahawk Ribeye ($145), a giant USDA Prime bone-in 40-ounce Ribeye, well-marbled for peak flavor. Believed to be one of the first restaurants in Hawaii to introduce it, Ruth’s Chris started offering the Tomahawk as a special a couple of years ago, but it became so popular, often selling out, that it’s been added to the regular menu.

“It’s just a massive, brontosaurus-size bone that hangs over your plate,” says executive chef Eser Domingo. “People will come just for that to get their beef fix.”

And while steaks are, no doubt, the top attraction, Ruth’s Chris also has exceptional seafood, salads and side dishes, such as its signature Chilled Seafood Tower ($69 small, $138 large) and Lobster Mac & Cheese ($26).

Ruth’s Chris opened its first Hawaii restaurant on Oahu at Waterfront Plaza (500 Ala Moana Blvd.), which celebrated its 28th anniversary this year. Since then, the establishment has added restaurants at Waikiki Beach Walk (226 Lewers St.), and on the neighbor islands: The Shops at Mauna Lani on Hawaii Island, Outlets of Maui and The Shops at Wailea on Maui, and soon at The Shops at Kukuiula on Kauai (opening Oct. 30).
