Poke & Box is located in Ala Moana Center’s Makai Market Food Court and offers made-to-order poke that’s customizable from start to finish.

“It’s not just poke over rice — we wanted to make it more like a salad experience,” explains owner Lauren Yoo.

It starts off with the base, where you have a choice of white rice, brown rice or salad. Then, poke choices include ahi, salmon, shrimp, tako, tofu, scallop and cooked chicken.

Topping options are equally diverse and include jalapeno, red cabbage, masago, kimchee, daikon, radish sprouts, pickled ginger and ocean salad.

To top it all off, there are eight different options of sauces, all made from scratch. Some of those saucy selections are Sriracha mayo and signature shoyu — just to name a few — but regardless of which one you choose, the flavor factor is going to be on point.

“The sauces are amazing — you have to try all our sauces,” Yoo recommends.

‘BOX’ UP YOUR FAVORITE POKE

The options are endless at Poke & Box, so the eatery’s staff offers up some creative possibilities. There’s Small PokeBox ($8.99), which features one choice of poke and two toppings. Medium PokeBox ($10.99) comes with two choices of poke and three toppings. Pictured here is ahi and salmon over salad with avocado, jalapenos and red cabbage.
