Although Hawaii has tropical weather year-round, there still is a different feel to summertime in the Islands. It’s a feeling that draws people together for events such as family parties and celebrations — think graduation, Father’s Day, Independence Day and more.
While beach days and barbecues make for fun family gatherings, some occasions deserve a little more.

General manager Marc Nezu says Hy’s offers up unique specialties that set the restaurant apart. “Every steak on our menu is USDA Prime grade, and we cook our steak over kiawe wood,” he explains.

Feel like spoiling your loved ones even more? Enjoy all-you-can-eat crab legs, plus sashimi, slow-roasted prime rib and more at the Father’s Day brunch ($85 per person), happening Sunday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (reservations recommended).
Furthermore, the only thing you’ll be “wining” about at Hy’s is which wine to choose from, as the restaurant is home to an extensive, award-winning wine list. Hy’s serves more than 40 wines by the glass and even has a staff of seven certified sommeliers, or wine stewards.
“We have rigorous training standards,” says Nezu. “Customer service training is paramount — it is most important to us.”
