Charcuterie Plate ($16 regular, $9 happy hour)

Wisp Restaurant & Lounge has only been open since November, but already the restaurant — located at the end of Waikiki, right before Diamond Head — is making a name for itself thanks to its contemporary Hawaii Regional Cuisine.

“We incorporate a lot of local and Asian ingredients to put our unique twist on more traditional dishes,” says co-owner and general manager Lani Nakamura.

But what diners might not realize is that Wisp also is a go-to place to grab drinks — such as the Pineapple Mojito ($15), which comes in an actual pineapple.

Customers will be happy to learn that Wisp recently unveiled a new deal on drinks: From 4 to 6 p.m. daily, anyone who purchases a drink receives a complimentary tapa, a Spanish name given to an appetizer or snack.

Tapa options rotate regularly and may include calamari, fried mandoo, french fries and escargot.

PERFECT PLATE FOR YOUR PALATE

If you’re stopping by Wisp Restaurant and Lounge for a drink, you’re going to need a little snack to go with it — something like Charcuterie Plate ($16), which includes an assorted mix of meats, cheeses and pickled vegetables, and crostini. Plus, during happy hour, you can snag the plate for just $9 (not included in free tapa deal). Featured items include prosciutto, salami, brie, aged cheddar, Gouda and Gorgonzola. “We make our own house-picked vegetables and our own crostini,” says general manager Lani Nakamura.
