When people think of Il Lupino Trattoria & Wine Bar, they picture authentic Italian cuisine and all the wine imaginable to go with it. What some diners don’t know, however, is that the restaurant also has delectable breakfast options to start your day off right.

Two breakfast dishes that are guaranteed to satisfy hungry patrons are Bananas Foster French Toast and Bacon ($15 on Mother’s Day, with bacon; regularly served a la carte for $14.95) and Lobster Benedict ($19.95).

“(The French Toast) is made with thick slices of sweet bread and topped off with caramel sauce and lots of banana slices,” explains PR and marketing director Mona Wood-Sword. “Our Bananas French Toast is the perfectly sweet way to start your day!”

As for Lobster Benedict, it is anything but average. “This morning favorite goes to the extreme with Maine lobster and chives for a nice flavor, topped with hollandaise sauce on a toasted English muffin,” Wood-Sword says.

“Chef Diego (Pacuruco) has really created an awesome breakfast and weekend brunch menu that caters to everyone,” she adds, “from light, quick morning bites to full-on ‘I’m going to read the Sunday paper and linger over every morsel’ breakfast celebrations.”

As a result, these tasty offerings are becoming more and more popular at Il Lupino. “Chef Diego’s breakfast menu has been building buzz since the beginning of the year — delicious food made with fresh, quality ingredients and reasonable prices keep bringing people back,” expresses Wood-Sword.

Since May 1, Il Lupino has served the first meal of the day a little earlier, at 7 a.m. instead of 8.

“We decided to start earlier because of customer demand,” she says. “This way, Waikiki workers can stop for breakfast before heading to the office, and visitors can start their day earlier before going to the beach.”
