Garlic Miso Chicken ($8.15 fast food, $9.35 restaurant)

Zippy’s has built its stellar reputation over the past 50-plus years by serving up local-style comfort food, and continues to keep up with culinary trends by offering seasonal specials coupled with popular giveaways and promotions.

As the Easter Bunny ramps up its efforts, Zippy’s Restaurants is offering the Island Hop Giveaway throughout the month of April. The grand prize winner will enjoy a trip for four to two neighbor islands courtesy of Island Air. The overall winner also will receive two-night stays at popular local hotels: Sheraton Waikiki on Oahu; Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay on the Big Island of Hawaii; and the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa.

Baked Ham & Roast Turkey Combo ($11.65 fast food, $13.40 restaurant) and Baked Ham with Rum Rasin Sauce ($10.25 fast food, $11.75 restaurant)

To coincide with the giveaway, Zippy’s Restaurants has brought back the popular Garlic Miso Chicken plate ($8.15 at the fast food counter, $9.35 dine-in restaurant) for a limited time through April 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily. The dish features seasoned chicken that is golden fried and topped with a miso-mayo sauce, sesame seeds and green onions. Garlic Miso Chicken is served with two scoops of rice and macaroni salad at the fast-food counter, and corn when enjoyed at the dine-in restaurant.

“We have consistently strived to maintain our food quality and the great local taste that have helped build our reputation throughout the years, especially with our signature items,” says Jeanine Mamiya-Kalahiki, marketing manager at Zippy’s Restaurants. “Times have changed, but what remains consistent is good quality, great taste and service with aloha.”

Tropical Waffle Boat ($11.25, restaurant only)

Zippy’s Restaurants invites diners to enjoy the company of family and friends at its multiple locations during the upcoming Easter weekend. Highly anticipated Easter Specials will be available April 15 and 16 at both the fast-food counter and dine-in restaurants from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Baked Ham with Rum Raisin Sauce ($10.25 fast food, $11.75 dine-in) includes sliced ham topped with rum raisin sauce and served with choice of starch and macaroni salad at the fast-food counter (a choice of starch and corn is available in the restaurant). Guests also may enjoy Baked Ham & Roast Turkey Combo ($11.65 fast food, $13.40 dine-in), which includes baked ham slices, roast turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, choice of starch and macaroni salad at the fast-food counter (choice of starch and corn in the restaurant).

Zippy’s also is offering its delicious Cold Saimin Salad ($8.50 at the dine-in restaurant only) through April 30. It includes iceberg lettuce topped with chilled saimin noodles, char siu, cucumber, Spam, egg, uzumaki (fishcake) and furikake. The sensational salad is served with one’s choice of Ginger Sesame or creamy Asian House dressings.

In the mood for something sweet? Zippy’s is giving diners the opportunity to try its new Tropical Waffle Boat, Tropical Pancakes Boat or Tropical French Toast Boat ($11.25 apiece, dine-in restaurant only), available through April 30.

This may be Zippy’s most decadent dessert yet, as guests may choose either a Belgian Waffle, Golden Fluffy Pancakes or Sweet Bread French Toast topped with a banana, two scoops of vanilla ice cream and a scoop of chocolate ice cream along with hot fudge, pineapple topping, strawberries, whipped cream, chopped macadamia nuts and a cherry on top.

“We could not have been successful for 50 years without the loyal customers who grew up with us — some first dined with us as kids and have continued to share Zippy’s with multiple generations of their families,” says Mamiya-Kalahiki.
