A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: MOTHER’S DAY PRIME RIB LUNCH BUFFET ($65 ADULTS, $32.50 KIDS AGES 6 -1 0 )

Pomaikai Ballrooms really is the perfect location to host any and all of your special events — after all, it is centrally located in Downtown Honolulu and occupies an expansive space in Dole Cannery to allow for a wealth of guests in its two ballrooms: Hokulei and Piilani.

Furthermore, each ballroom can be split up into smaller, private venues for a more intimate gathering, if needed.

Director of catering Shawn Fujimoto explains, “We’re a full banquet and catering facility so we can do social events, meetings and even weddings. Several times during the year, we do special events. We have Administrative Professionals Day coming up next week and then, of course, our biggest one, Mom’s Day.”

And what better way to celebrate Mom on her special day than to treat her to a decadent buffet spread in an elevated, regal atmosphere?

On Sunday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Pomaikai Ballrooms’ executive chef Freddie Billena and sous chef Eddy Ayau will present a Mother’s Day Prime Rib Lunch Buffet in Hokulei Ballroom. All tickets must be purchased in advance, and the day will include live entertainment from the band IMUA, as well as prize giveaways.

As for the food, the buffet spread includes a salad bar, a selection of local fusion-style entrees and the featured and highly anticipated Prime Rib of Beef. Also visit the dessert station for bites of Warm Vanilla Raisin Bread Pudding served with English Custard sauce, Mini Apple Crumb Pie and more.
