If you’re familiar with the Chinese restaurant scene in Hawaii, then you know once you walk into a Chinese restaurant, you’d better be ready to respond to the quick greeting by restaurant hosts: “Welcome! Dine in or takeout? How many in your party?”

The hosts and servers at Nice Day Chinese Seafood Restaurant will give you just this greeting, but you’ll also notice all the radiant smiles coming from the employees.

Restaurant manager Shirley Cheng has been with Nice Day for nearly 10 years and says her favorite part of the job is serving customers and seeing them smile and being happy while enjoying their flavorful food.

Cheng mentions that morning to lunch is the busiest time of day because of the popular dim sum service.

She also takes pride in the larger meals offered, like Pan-fried Flounder, as the restaurant’s fare is conducive to sharing.

From mouthwatering lunch and dinner menu items to noodles, seafood and more, plus the happy environment, a trip to this restaurant will certainly grant you a “Nice Day.”

GETTING TANGLED UP IN THIS CATCH

A whole, Pan-fried Flounder ($16.95) pairs great with Nice Day’s Char Siu Hong Kong-style Skinny Noodles with Vegetables ($11.95). While the flounder has a crisp bite on the outside, inside it’s soft and light. Manager Shirley Cheng suggests adding soy sauce to the fish for a more flavorful bite. Be sure to throw your fishing line out quick because Cheng says customers call in just to make sure the fish is available when they get to the restaurant.
