It’s little wonder why locals and tourists quickly fall in love with the local Japanese culture. From the holidays and traditions to the tasty foods, Hawaii is heavily influenced by all that lies beneath the red sun.
Enter J-Shop, a Japanese grocery store and small eatery, which takes pride in housing high-quality ingredients and food items that can’t be found anywhere else on Oahu. According to owner Hideyoshi Takasawa, 95 percent of J-Shop’s products are imported from Japan.
Wagyu Yakiniku Bento ($14.50) is sure to make shoppers’ mouths water as the high-quality meat comes from the well-known Kobe region. This popular bento features J-Shop’s top-rated Wagyu A5 Beef, which is thinly sliced and marinated to perfection.
