In light of Chinese New Year quickly approaching, Happy Days Chinese Seafood Restaurant is preparing to bring good fortune, via good eats, to all of its guests throughout the coming Year of the Rooster. With good fortune comes good times, which also can be found at the eatery.

Most popular, especially during this time of year, is Jai ($10.95), String Beans with Minced Pork ($11.95) and Gao ($6). Jai promises good luck and consists of fresh vegetables, while String Beans with Minced Pork is the perfect mixture of veggies and savory meat. Top off your meal with Gao, a sweet treat made up of mochi powder and sugar.

Conveniently located in Kaimuki, Happy Days has been a part of the community for the past 15 years. It offers lots of room for your holiday parties and will be hosting a lion dance on both Chinese New Year’s Eve and Day (Jan. 27-28).

COME ON, GET HAPPY

Happy Days Chinese Seafood Restaurant’s patrons find the most joy when diving into traditional Jai ($10.95) and/or String Beans with Minced Pork ($11.95).

The vegetable-filled frenzy, otherwise known as Jai, boasts mushrooms, won bok (napa cabbage), baby corn, Chinese peas and carrots — which are all soaked in a house-made sauce that features a little bit of oyster sauce and shoyu. As for the string bean dish, it’s prepared with garlic, chili and red peppers for an irresistible taste.
