A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: Prime Rib (part of Thanksgiving buffet: $26.98 lunch, $37.98 dinner)

On any given day, Makino Chaya is packed with generations of diners. Families come Monday-Thursday for the Early Bird Special from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and pay $22.98 (regular dinner price is $32.98) for a deliciously diverse allyou-can-eat buffet. Others host their parties and special occasions within the eatery’s expansive dining space, while delving into a mixture of local and Asian favorites.

Visit the carving station weekly (available for dinner Friday-Sunday) for quality cuts of meat, including roast beef, steaks and boneless short ribs. And for Thanksgiving, expect an amped up carving-station spread, as Makino Chaya will be offering something different. Forget the turkey and opt for prime rib, Kielbasa sausage and roast pig instead. Customers, who are encouraged to make their Thanksgiving reservations now, also can look forward to fresh poke, snow crab, garlic shrimp and lobster during the holiday of all holidays to feast.

When you’ve made your rounds — no one is counting — don’t forget to visit the dessert station, which offers a varied selection of delectably sweet bites, as well as shave ice and frozen yogurt. For Thanksgiving, expect holiday-themed desserts.
