Kamehameha Shopping Center recently welcomed Teishoku Restaurant (near Times Super Market), serving authentic Japanese cuisine that is fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. The restaurant opened in June, and offers a clean, inviting setting, with booth seating separated by beautiful Japanese shoji screens on top, as well as some regular table seats.

The menu features many choices, including teishoku (set meals), combination meals, spicy ahi and ahi poke bowls, sushi, sashimi, ramen and curry. Teishoku, combination meals and the ahi bowls are served with salad, an appetizer, rice and miso soup.

LET’S BOWL

Teishoku prides itself on using high-quality ingredients. A must-try is Spicy Ahi Bowl ($12.45), which is made with sashimi-grade ahi mixed with a house-special spicy mayonnaise and topped with nori, white onion, green onion and masago. It’s all served over white rice and comes with miso soup, an appetizer and salad.
