As Ala Moana Center continues to expand, the captivating grand entrance to Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant remains the same. The Chinese cuisine, however, is constantly evolving as the staff and chefs strive to keep customers coming back for more.

This Thanksgiving, allow Jade Dynasty to do all of the hard work for you. Gather friends and family and head on over to satisfy all of your festive cravings with the restaurant’s Chinese-style Thanksgiving feast.

Pumpkin Fried Rice (part of Thanksgiving sets)

General manager Gary Chan explains that Jade Dynasty will be featuring two Thanksgiving specials, a Complete Set for 10 people ($328) and Takeout ($168) option Nov. 24-26. The Complete Set requires a reservation, and includes Roasted Turkey, Fried Shrimp Balls, Pumpkin & Seafood Soup, Shrimp Steamed with Garlic on a bed of look fun noodles, Sweet Potato Greens, Pumpkin Fried Rice and Pumpkin Mochi for dessert. The Takeout package includes Roasted Turkey, Sweet Potato Greens and Pumpkin Fried Rice.

Chan looks forward to seeing guests’ reactions to Sweet Potato Greens and Pumpkin Mochi, mostly because they are his favorites. “The Sweet Potato Greens come from sweet potato vines and have a texture similar to spinach,” he says. “It’s very healthy, and delicious because it’s topped with garlic and ham.

“The turkey is really tasty and moist,” adds Chan. “It’s 12-14 pounds, sliced up and cooked Chinese-style. We prepare it similarly to our Peking Duck but add a Chinese soy sauce-based gravy, which is thinner than traditional gravy.”

Pumpkin Fried Rice is another dish patrons are excited about because it is served in a pumpkin. The dish features mochi rice and meat such as Chinese sausage, which is mixed with pumpkin for contrasting flavors.

Saving what might be the best for last, get ready to devour Pumpkin Mochi. “Our chefs use pumpkin meat to make the mochi and then there’s red bean on the inside and on top,” explains Chan.
