As local families prepare to celebrate Father’s Day, Zippy’s Restaurants is rolling out a dynamic duo of dine-in specials crafted to appease even the heartiest appetites.
The culinary wizards at Zippy’s have created two special three-course meals that start off with a dinner roll, choice of soup or tossed salad and a choice of a large soft drink or coffee. Diners may then select an entree: Braised Boneless Shortribs ($23.50, restaurant only), slow-braised tender shortribs topped with jardiniere sauce, served with macaroni salad and a choice of starch; or Garlic Rib Steak ($20.90, restaurant only), a tender boneless rib steak seasoned perfectly with garlic and broiled to perfection, then topped with mushrooms and onions and served with corn and a choice of starch.
To conclude the scrumptious meal, diners may choose from Strawberry Shortcake Fantasy, Brownie Delite — a chocolate or whole wheat brownie topped with a scoop of ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, chopped nuts and a maraschino cherry — or Napple A La Mode for dessert. These can’t-miss specials are available Saturday and Sunday, June 18 and 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Zippy’s dine-in restaurants only. “We offer a special Father’s Day menu, as well as our regular menu offerings, to satisfy any appetite,” says Jeanine Mamiya-Kalahiki, marketing manager at Zippy’s Restaurants. “We provide a safe, family-friendly place that makes it easy and comfortable to enjoy a great meal with loved ones.”
Zippy’s continues to roll out new salad options to complement its extensive menu, including Broccoli Salad ($9.95, restaurant only). Available now through June 30, this fresh selection features cooked broccoli and crispy bacon atop a bed of Kunia Farms aquaponic greens, along with Cheddar cheese, chopped onions and craisins. The salad is accompanied by a creamy red wine vinaigrette dressing that ties all the flavors together.
Throughout June, Zippy’s is offering a “Kamaaina Stay & Play Giveaway,” and will award a grand prize package featuring a two-night stay and breakfast for four at Turtle Bay Resort, a Party Pack for 10 at Wet ‘N Wild Hawaii, and a luau for four at Germaine’s Luau. In conjunction with the giveaway, Zippy’s is offering the ever-popular Mini Chicken Katsu ($5.29 fast food, $6.10 restaurant), Mini Hamburger Steak ($5.29 fast food, $6.10 restaurant) and Mini Spaghetti & Garlic Bread ($4.99 fast food, $5.75 restaurant).
Zippy’s also is partnering with American Cancer Society to raise funds for Hope Lodge, which will offer a supportive home-like environment to cancer patients in Hawaii, so they can focus on one thing: getting well.
There are three ways that diners and their families can show support for the campaign, which runs through July 31. First, pick up a Kokua Pac Dream Edition for only $8.45 at the fast food counter and $9.15 in the restaurant. The special array includes Korean fried chicken, teriyaki hamburger, Spam and breaded shrimp over rice. Twenty five cents from each Kokua Pac sold will be donated to Hope Lodge. Guests also may purchase a Hope Lodge cutout for $1 each and donate to designated boxes at each Zippy’s location.
