Summer has officially started, and although that might mean time off for keiki, parents may be getting busier as they chauffeur their kids to and from sporting events and other activities. Max’s of Manila is making mealtime a little easier for everyone with its Summer Treat To Go special.

Available now until the end of summer, customers can receive six pieces of Max’s Fried Chicken (legs or thighs), Lumpiang Shanghai and Pancit (choice of Bihon, Canton or Miki Bihon noodles) to go for $28.99, along with one of Max’s eco-friendly tote bags.

Max’s of Manila debuted 70 years ago in the Philippines. Most famous for its fried chicken, Max’s has since evolved into a worldwide Filipino restaurant chain. The company came to Hawaii almost 10 years ago, with two locations: Waipahu and Honolulu.

Aligning with Filipino culture, Max’s is the perfect place to host large parties. Its function rooms can fit 200 people in Waipahu, and 150 in Honolulu.

FILIPINO FAVORITES ON THE GO

Within Max’s of Manila’s Summer Treat To Go special are signature dishes from the restaurant. Take the fried chicken, for example, the original and classic meal whipped up by founder Maximo Gimenez when the business began in the 1940s. The meat is fried to golden perfection with a unique blend of spices.

Also included in the special are Lumpiang Shanghai — egg rolls made with ground pork and vegetables that are rolled inside pastry wrappers and deep fried — and a choice of Pancit: Bihon (rice noodles), Canton (egg noodles) or Miki Bihon (mix of rice and egg noodles). The pancit selections are sautéed with vegetables, pork, chicken and shrimp.
