Hot Pot Heaven opened its newest location in Pearl Kai Shopping Center Feb. 6. Under the command of husband-and-wife team Cosme and Violeta Rivera, the eatery is a proud family operation.

According to the Riveras’ son Gerald, the family started out as regular diners at Hot Pot Heaven’s McCully location. They enjoyed dining at the eatery so much that the pair approached the McCully owner and asked if he was franchising the business. He said “yes,” and thus, Hot Pot Heaven’s second location was born.

Known for its variety of broths — from Chicken and Miso to Tofu Mushroom and Thai — patrons also are welcome to Hot Pot Heaven’s self-serve refrigerators, which offer different meats and vegetables. Once customers have all of their desired ingredients, they can add everything to the steaming broths that simmer on portable stoves.

Spice up your life with Hot Pot Heaven’s Kimchee Broth ($9.99). Using a chicken broth as its base, this choice is made with homemade kimchee, tofu and miso, and is one of the eatery’s most popular broths. Next, be sure to add some Pork and Shrimp ($4.89) meatballs and Beef ($4.89) to your hot pot. The combination of these flavors and the kimchee broth’s spice complement each other perfectly and will leave your mouth watering and ready for more!
