A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: The Big City Cobb Salad ($13.99)

Family dining is easy at Big City Diner (BCD), where delicious American comfort food with a local twist caters to everyone from keiki to kupuna.

“There’s all different types of foods that people can enjoy, together as a group (and) as a family,” says owner Lane Muraoka.

With six locations across Oahu, the restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as late night and brunch on weekends. All locations, including its newest Windward Mall eatery, now operate under the same hours: Sunday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to midnight.

As a sponsor of Special Olympics Hawaii, BCD encourages you to come on down and dine for a good cause. Customers are welcome to donate freely, and for every purchase of the restaurant’s famous edamame dish, Big City Diner will donate $1 to the organization for the entire month of April.

Putting its own unique twist on a classic, the restaurant also offers The Big City Cobb Salad. A mouth-watering medley of hickory-smoked turkey, country-style ham, roasted corn, diced local tomatoes, black olives, California avocado, red onion and a blend of Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses come together with Romaine lettuce. Customers may choose their dressing and even can opt for takeout or home delivery.
