A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: Pan Fried Squid ($9.95)

An authentic gem of Chinese cuisine conveniently sits along Farrington Highway in Waipahu town. Since opening in 1976, Far East Chop Suey has been proudly serving up delicious meals to locals far and wide.

“A lot of people come here (from all over the island),” says owner Eric Huang.

At the eatery, you’ll find a nearly endless menu of tasty temptations. Among its most popular dishes are Mongolian Beef, Pan Fried Shrimp, Steamed Sole Fillet, Ginger Chicken and Shrimp Walnut.

The long-standing restaurant features daily specials all day Monday through Friday, and happily offers takeout and catering options.

This week, Dining Out features its Pan Fried Squid, a flavorful dish that’s sure to be taste bud-friendly. Offered either mild or spicy, this treat is so unforgettable that you’ll want to order seconds.
