Ho Farms Heirloom Cherry Tomato Burrata Caprese Salad $12

A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: Ho Farms Heirloom Cherry Tomato Burrata Caprese Salad ($12)

Tucked away at Canterbury Place along Ala Moana Boulevard is Chai’s Waikiki Hawaiian Fusion. Formerly known as Sing-ha Thai Cuisine, chef Chai Chaowasaree opened his newest establishment there just three months ago.

All of Chaowasaree’s dishes are easily recognized because each is carefully created — ensuring that flavors, tastes and presentation exceed the highest of standards. Going above and beyond includes securing the freshest ingredients from around the state. Venison from Molokai, beef from Parker Ranch on the Big Island and herbs and spices from Ho and ‘Nalo Farms here on Oahu all are featured on the menu.

Having grown up in the restaurant business alongside his parents in Bangkok, Thailand, Chaowasaree has been working with food for the last 35 years. Although Chai’s Waikiki Hawaiian Fusion is still the new kid on the block, Chaowasaree is no rookie to satisfying everyone’s appetite.

“It’s been phenomenal thus far. I think because of the location, we want the tourists to experience what Hawaii has to offer,” he says.
