New Eagle Cafe has been a staple place to eat a mixture of comfort foods best known to Hawaii locals. It is in this simple establishment where one will find Stuffed Cabbage, Oxtail Soup and Kimchee Fried Rice all on the same menu.

First opened in the ’50s, the restaurant moved to its present location off of Nimitz Highway in the ’80s, and eventually found its niche with current owner Tae Im in November 2012. One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is the quality of the food and the timeless atmosphere that continues to welcome generations of families.

THE BREAKFAST CLUB

Seeing as breakfast is the most important meal of the day, New Eagle Cafe has one dish that truly fits the phrase “breakfast of champions.” Roast Prime Rib and Half Order Eggs Benedict ($16.95) is a protein-packed meal including 6 ounces of prime rib — with a side of horseradish and au jus — and half an English muffin, topped with a poached egg, Canadian bacon and hollandaise sauce. And don’t forget your choice of side, which offer up rice, hash brown or toast. This dish only is offered during breakfast hours, which are 8 a.m.-noon Monday-Friday, and 6 a.m.-noon Saturday and Sunday.
