Renovated Location, Specials for Dad

WITH FATHER’S DAY right around the corner, Zippy’s Restaurants is serving up a duo of dine-in specials crafted to appease even the heartiest appetites as families gather to celebrate dads.

The culinary wizards at Zippy’s have created two special three-course meals that start off with a dinner roll, choice of soup or tossed salad and a choice of a large soft drink or coffee. Diners may then select an entree: Braised Boneless Shortribs ($24.75, restaurant only), slow-braised tender shortribs topped with jardiniere sauce served with macaroni salad and a choice of starch; or Garlic Rib Steak ($20.80, restaurant only), a tender boneless rib steak seasoned beautifully with garlic and broiled to perfection before being topped with mushrooms and onions and served with corn and a choice of starch.

To conclude the scrumptious meal, diners may choose from Strawberry Shortcake Fantasy, Brownie Delight — a chocolate or whole wheat brownie topped with a scoop of ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, chopped nuts and a maraschino cherry — or Napple A La Mode for dessert. These can’t-miss specials are available Saturday and Sunday, June 20 and 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Zippy’s dine-in restaurants only. Diners are reminded that prices may vary at different Zippy’s locations.

“We offer a special Father’s Day menu, as well as our regular menu offerings to satisfy any appetite,” says Jeanine Mamiya-Kalahiki, marketing manager at Zippy’s Restaurants. “We provide a safe, family-friendly place that makes it easy and comfortable to enjoy a great meal with loved ones.”

Windward side residents will be thrilled to hear that Zippy’s Kailua has reopened after undergoing extensive renovations designed to better serve its loyal customers. One of the popular renovations implemented at Zippy’s Kailua is the addition of a phone order drive-through window — diners may call in their order at (808) 266-3780 and pick up their favorite cuisine without leaving the vehicle. The improved Zippy’s Kailua location also features Napoleon’s Bakery as well as Hot & Fresh options, including made-to-order malasadas, andagi and jin dui.

“Zippy’s Kailua has been updated to better serve our customers,” says Mamiya-Kalahiki. “The dining room has a softer, brighter decor, which creates a warm, friendly environment. The drive-through window has been enhanced by adding an additional window to speed up the pick-up process.”

Throughout June, Zippy’s is offering a “Project: Renovate Giveaway” and will award a grand prize remodeling package valued at more than $5,000. The package includes custom flooring, custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, consultation and planning from an expert contractor and a two-night stay in an ocean-view room at Ala Moana Hotel. In conjunction with the giveaway, Zippy’s is offering the ever-popular Spaghetti & Chicken Mixed Plate ($6.99 at the fast food counter and $7.99 at the dine-in restaurant through June 30), which includes spaghetti (with chili or meat sauce), fried chicken and tasty garlic bread.

Zippy’s continues to roll out new salad options to complement its extensive menu, such as the restaurant’s popular Chopped Salad ($11.25, restaurant only). Available now through June 30, this chopped creation includes fresh romaine lettuce, ham, turkey, tomatoes, garbanzo beans, mozzarella cheese and green onions, all tossed in a tasty parmesan and herb dressing.
