A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: Spicy Tempura Roll ($5)

Claiming the top tier of kaiten-style sushi establishments, Genki Sushi continues to send the freshest and most tasty fare around the conveyor belt. The local eatery presents affordable options and efficient service, and patrons are given the freedom to create their entire meal, stacking up colorful plate after colorful plate of nigiri sushi, french fries, California Roll and more. A black dish is reserved for Spicy Tempura Roll — a sushi creation that’s so good, you’ll be reaching for more.

Ebi-fry that’s panko coated and deep fried is surrounded between layers of rice and nori.

Abundant amounts of smooth spicy tuna chunks are packed on top of the roll, which complement crispy Ebi-fry.

Genki Sushi is renowned for its spicy tuna, yet keeps the sauce rather simple, only utilizing mayonnaise, Ichimi chili pepper flakes and tobiko (salmon roe).

Other Genki favorites include Seared Spicy Tuna (market price) or Salmon ($3), in addition to Ultimate Trio ($5), which combines three types of fish, seared with a creamy garlic sauce. Avocado Ebi ($3) also has made a comeback after continuous requests from customers.

Genki Sushi’s unagi sauce and Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce are drizzled atop the roll for an added flavor-filled punch. The combination of the two sauces creates a sweet-and-spicy taste, which takes the dish to a whole ‘nother level!
