A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL Garlic Butter Kauai Steamed Prawns ($18.95 regular price, $15.95 special price, available for a limited time only)

Experience the exotic flavors of China in the heart of Chinatown at Little Village Noodle House, where the menu boasts authentic Northern-style Chinese cuisine with a local touch. Patrons love the restaurant’s signature classics, like pot stickers, orange chicken and the best-selling honey walnut shrimp. Recently, restaurant partner David Chang debuted a new item, Garlic Butter Kauai Steamed Prawns, which is sure to work up diners’ appetites thanks to its mouthwatering taste.

Seven locally harvested Kauai prawns make up the dish, and Chang says he receives a shipment of fresh prawns every week. To ensure a high-quality product, the dish only is available while supplies last, until a new shipment of prawns comes in.

“Our customers love this dish. It’s something different on the menu that has gained a following in no time,” says Chang. “People should come in to try it. It’s a great price.”

Slivers of shallots and green onion garnish the dish.

The prawns are served atop a bed of look fun. The white, thick noodles are a perfect accompaniment to the dish, as remnants of garlic and butter seep into the noodles. Delicious!

“The head and shell are kept on the prawns, but we slightly break into the shell to stuff the prawns with fresh garlic and butter.

Once steamed, the prawns are sauteed in more savory butter and morsels of finely-chopped garlic. Fortified with flavor, these Kauai prawns are respected by any shrimp enthusiast.
