Patrons are eager to splash into a sea of flavors at Ocean Dim Sum in Waipahu. Owners Darren and Elaine Li recently opened the doors to this grab-and-go hot spot that’s quickly developing quite a fan base.

Not your typical dine-in restaurant, Ocean Dim Sum offers dim sum available for takeout only. According to the owners, the food speaks to their personal heritage, and reflects the cuisine of their hometown, Canton, China.

Homemade selections of dim sum present authentic Chinese flair with a local twist. Favorites include Deep-Fried Pork Hash (five for $4.50, one dozen for $9.50), Half Moon (five for $4.50, one dozen for $9.50) and Taro Gok (three for $2.75, one dozen for $9.50), to name a few.

To accompany these savory options is sweet Egg Custard Bun (three for $2.75, six for $5.50). Remember to snag some Manapua while you’re at it.
