Happy hour presents a number of reasons to be joyful — namely, the end of a work-day and the opportunity to wine and dine at an affordable price. With the launch of Mimasuya Italiano of Kyoto’s new happy hour menu, available every day from 5 to 7 p.m., food enthusiasts everywhere are heading to the highly-acclaimed Italian restaurant with a Japanese twist.
“Our goal has always been to provide the freshest, most flavorful dishes at a reasonable price,” says manager Michael Lopez. “With the exception of drinks, all of the food on our happy hour menu is actually available any time of day.”
New to the menu, Margherita ($5.50), Gorgonzola ($5.50) and Parma Prosciutto ($6.50) Flat Breads are never missing from any table spread. “We make all of our dough and sauces from scratch,” explains Lopez. “Whenever possible, we try to support our local farms for key ingredients such as basil and arugula.”
Mimasuya’s happy hour menu features shareable favorites, including Caprese ($4), Chicken Salsa Verde ($4), Bruschetta ($4), Sauteed Garlic Mushrooms ($4), Arancino ($4), Crispy Calamari ($6), Smoked Salmon with Onion ($6) and Shrimp Puttanesca ($4).
“My personal recommendations are Shrimp Puttanesca and Crispy Calamari,” says Lopez. “We have access to high-quality seafood, and the shrimp is marinated in a homemade sauce of anchovies, olives and capers.”
During happy hour, diners also may enjoy a house red or white wine, as well as discounted beers such as Budweiser ($3), Bud Light ($3), Longboard ($4), Stella Artois ($4) and Hoegaarden ($4).
