Even after 26 years in business, Million Restaurant, the popular Korean yakiniku establishment, is still figuring out ways to freshen up its menu. Last week, the Sheridan Street eatery introduced three new dishes that are promising.

Best known for its hotpot dishes, Million has now added Butterfish Soup ($19.95) to the mix. The sizzling bowl features tofu, Chinese cabbage, clams, green onion and Korean watercress in a Korean-style anchovy broth.

Another new item to delve into is Steamed Mackerel with Kimchee ($24.95). A whole steamed fish is served with a large portion of kimchee that’s presented on a smoking hot plate that will announce its arrival long before it hits the table — as do the majority of dishes at Million.

If you’re looking for a cool refresher to pair with the two aforementioned hot entrees, then Cold Buckwheat Noodles with Cucumber ($8.95) could be just what you need. Buckwheat noodles are mixed with cucumber, red pepper, sesame oil, sesame seeds and steamed egg, soaked in a chilled pot of beef broth.

Next time hunger sets in, check out Million. You’ll be pleased.
