A LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: SHRIMP FRIED RICE WITH MIXED VEGETABLE SAUTEE ($16.95)

For more than a decade, Pho My Lien, located at Westridge Shopping Center in Aiea, presents customers with home-style Vietnamese cooking that cannot be duplicated. The restaurant is known for its fresh ingredients and authentic cuisine. Not only is Pho My Lien “pho-tastic” with flavorful and delicious bowls of pho, but it also serves a plethora of other specialties including spring rolls, short ribs, salads and stir-fried fare. This week, Pho My Lien whips up a dish especially for Dining Out readers, and all it requires is a massive appetite.

Rumor has it that Pho My Lien serves up irresistible crispy spring rolls filled with morsels of beef, pork, chicken, rice and bits of celery. “I promise you that you can’t stop at just one,” says restaurant financial adviser Walter James. Good thing this dish comes with two spring rolls to drool over and enjoy.

“This dish is big enough to share with family and it’s delicious,” James says, adding that it will be available for a limited time until March 22.

Fresh mint accentuates the dish offering added freshness — a cleanse for the palate.

A heaping portion of fried rice will lure in all appetites with a medley of shrimp, peas, carrots and egg wok-fried with jasmine rice. A splash of shoyu is included into the mix, as well as salt, pepper and minced garlic.

Veggies are a must with any meal, and broccoli, carrots, celery and bok choy are steamed and served on the side. “Fresh vegetables are replenished every day.”
