TAKE A LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: PASSION AND GUAVA MARBLE WITH ORANGE CREAM CHEESE CUPCAKE ($3.50)

Partake in the sweeter things in life at Hokulani Bake Shop, a leader in the island’s confectionary scene even before its win during the Food Network’s “Screamfest” episode of Cupcake Wars. Home to an assortment of avant-garde cupcakes and homemade cookies, this gourmet bakery’s recipe for success rests in the high quality of its ingredients. We’re talking real butter and sugar here!

Just in time for Spring, Hokulani Bake Shop offers a scrumptious cupcake — Passion and Guava Marble with Orange Cream Cheese — available until April 30. Trust us: It’s to die for.

Finishing touches are added with dainty slipper accents made from buttercream frosting and a light sprinkle of pink sugar crystals. Only in Hawaii will you find a cupcake like this.

Cream cheese frosting with orange zest is piped atop the cupcake to create a swirl of irresistible tropical flavor.

According to lead baker Danielle Jaffe, this island-fusion cupcake is inspired by the local favorite POG (passion, orange, guava) juice. “This is one of our most popular cupcakes. We always sell out by the end of the day.”

The cupcake batter is a blend of Hokulani’s two most popular flavors — Strawberry Guava and Lilikoi. Dedicated to authentic ingredients, you won’t find a drop of oil in any of the bake shop’s confections.

Hokulani Bake Shop’s philosophy is spot-on: You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy cupcakes — that’s kind of the same thing!
