Just in time for those in need of a carb-load before the Honolulu Marathon, Wailana Coffee House is offering a three-day special.
Running Dec. 5-7, customers may gorge on “All You Can Eat” Spaghetti to prepare for the big race.
“We have a lot of marathon runners come in just before the marathon, and they always eat a lot of pasta or starches (to) carb up before the race,” says Wailana general manager Kenton Tom.
“I can’t imagine how you can race after eating all that spaghetti, but they do,” he adds with a laugh.
It is a special that Wailana Coffee House has been running for more than 10 years because of its high success among customers.
“It’s all you can eat, and they like that,” says Leong. “It’s a fun menu for us.”
On Thursday, enjoy “All You Can Eat” Spaghetti with meat sauce from 5 p.m. to midnight.
A pasta buffet on Friday and Saturday from 5 to 8:30 p.m. features three different types of pasta to choose from: spaghetti, spinach fettucini and rainbow rotini.
Carb-loaders also can choose from three different sauces: marinara herb sauce, red sauce with seasoned ground beef and seafood sauce — which features bay shrimp, clams and mahi mahi in a white cream sauce — is available Friday. On Saturday, instead of the seafood sauce, diners have the option of an Italian sausage sauce.
Once the buffet closes at 8:30 p.m., the “All You Can Eat” Spaghetti menu for table service begins again and is available until midnight.
The meal also includes access to the restaurant’s salad bar and Parmesan garlic bread.
Of course, just because you aren’t a marathon runner doesn’t mean anyone is stopping you from indulging in a carb-load session as well.
The price for each special: a very appealing $10.95.
