There’s a plethora of establishments that offer gourmet food and drinks around the island these days.

But quick, can you name one that’s there for you 24/7?

Kissaten Coffee Bar is. And although the coffee is top-notch here, with freshly brewed Hawaii blend coffee drinks and espresso, it’s what’s coming out of the kitchen that’s luring back customers again and again.

Can’t sleep? Hungry at 3 a.m.? Pulling an all-nighter? Whatever the situation, and there really doesn’t have to be one, you know that here you can enjoy a fresh, delicious meal and a great cup of joe around the clock.

The menu, which ranges from breakfast favorites including a fresh seasonal fruit plate, to soups, salads, sandwiches and pasta, is available daily until 10:30 p.m., when the late-night menu kicks in with savory soups and sandwiches until 6 a.m., when breakfast starts again.

And Kissaten hasn’t forgotten those who don’t eat meat or fish. The menu offers a number of meat-free dishes, such as Roasted Red Pepper Hummus ($7.75). Listed under “Salads,” this is a generous plateful of grilled pita wedges, roasted red pepper hummus, diced cucumbers, red onions, olives and feta cheese — a Greek-inspired feast that’s fun to eat.

Kissaten’s creative specials are not to be missed, and this month its taking a taste trip to sunny Italy with a mouthwatering Caprese Panini ($8.50), packed with marinated Kamuela tomatoes, mozzarella and sweet basil pesto aioli on grilled ciabatta. The panini preparation melds all those flavors so that each bite is a flavor blast. It’s accompanied by the cafe’s signature spring mix tossed with balsamic vinaigrette, so this is a healthy meal any time of day. And if you can’t make it in this month for the special, it will remain available after August as a special order.

Can’t get over to Piikoi Street? Kissaten recently has partnered with Room Service in Paradise, so you can just pick up the phone and have it delivered fresh to your door.

Getting a gourmet meal at Kissaten is so easy and affordable, you’ll want to “Kiss” and tell.
