Locals know exactly where to head when that special occasion rolls around, especially if the number of guests is plentiful. Good thing Todai in Waikiki, which opened in 1999, seats more than 400 people and has a vast selection of food to choose from.

And we’re not talking just any food. Todai has crab legs, prime rib, various types of sushi and yes, even desserts!

All desserts are included in the buffet price ($11.98 lunch Monday to Friday; $15.98 dinner Monday to Friday; $25.98 lunch Saturday and Sunday; $26.98 dinner Saturday and Sunday).

Manager Justin Kim gave Dining Out a glimpse into the desserts that adorn the lunch buffet tables.

Oreo, Green Tea and Mango Cakes are bite-sized morsels that will put a smile on anyone’s face. Their small size allows customers to not feel as guilty when indulging in these tasty treats.

In addition to the cakes, there also are different types of Jell-O, cheese-cakes, cookies, fruits, tarts and pastries, and each item has the presentation aspect of dining covered.

The colors and arrangement of each piece make for an elegant, upscale look that reflects the taste and experience.

Crepes are Todai’s most popular dessert item, according to Kim, and they can be adorned with bananas, strawberry, chocolate syrup and more!

During dinner, customers also can indulge in the magnificent chocolate fountain with assorted dipping treats such as marshmallows, bananas and strawberries.

Since Todai is a family-oriented restaurant, it offers many desserts that everyone in the family will love. Are you a chocolate lover? The Oreo Cake and Chocolate Fountain will do the trick. Trying to eat healthy? Pick up some fresh fruit (and dip it in the chocolate if you wish). Want something rich? Snag a piece of cheesecake.

Looking at the dessert selection, anyone with a sweet tooth might faint to the floor. And that’s just the lunch dessert selection. Todai offers a much more expansive dessert selection during its dinner hours, so make sure to stop in for that. The establishment’s dessert bar is no joke.
