With a selection of amazing seafood options offered at outstanding prices, every day presents a reason to celebrate at Makino Chaya. In fact, the Aiea eatery continues to give diners new opportunities to rejoice over its appetizing local favorites.
In celebration of its 35th anniversary, Makino Chaya is offering an exclusive Order Menu of under-the-sea delights that are included in the all-you-can-eat dinner buffet (Monday-Friday, $25.98; Saturday-Sunday, $27.98).
In addition to the colorful spread that fills the buffet on a regular basis — complete with shrimp tempura, sashimi platters, 30 different kinds of sushi, a selection of hand rolls, teppanyaki steak and more — diners may order from a festive menu of King Crab, Miso Butterfish and Soft-shell Crab at their table.
“Its all local favorites everyone loves,” says restaurant president Jo Makino. “We have Snow Crab every day for dinner, and then we have it on the weekend for lunch, and everyone loves that. But you know, it doesn’t compare to the King Crab because it has more meat and everyone likes it the most.”
Makino suggests enjoying this special treat simply with butter, as the freshly steamed King Crab meat speaks for itself in terms of flavor and doesn’t need much seasoning.
The special offering of velvety Miso Butterfish is broiled to tender perfection as well, while fried Soft-shell Crab boasts a satisfying crunch.
“The Order Menu is all you can eat as well,” points out Makino, “so customers can eat as much King Crab, Miso Butterfish, and Soft-shell Crab as they want.”
When you add the value of the Order Menu’s selection to everything that’s already included in the dinner buffet — such as prime pieces of uni and ikura that you’ll be hard-pressed to find for a better price anywhere else — it’s impossible to resist the quality and quantity of the meal you’ll dive in to at Makino Chaya.
Now that’s a reason to celebrate!
