A Taste of Japan at Osaka Ramen

Osaka Ramen, located in Pearl Kai Shopping Center in Aiea, is making a splash with its hearty ramen dishes, combination plates and more — all priced at great values that won’t break your pocketbook.

Owners Michelle Huang and Zhen Wei Lin opened the doors to this ramen establishment a year ago, and say the eatery is the perfect choice for the entire family.

“Customers really like our ramen because it’s very authentic. It has a taste that’s true to Japan,” Michelle says. “We have a lot of ramen choices to choose from, but Osaka Ramen is a classic.”

Priced at $8.75, the restaurant’s namesake features a large bowl of ramen with a miso soup base garnished with corn, char siu, egg, fish cake, seaweed and bean sprouts served with a side of chicken katsu.

“The miso that we use is from Japan. Osaka Ramen is a very popular choice with our customers and it’s been on our menu since we opened,” she states, adding that other ramen favorites, all priced at $6.50 each, include Char Siu Ramen, Gyoza Ramen, Miso Ramen and Wonton Ramen.

Osaka Ramen’s diverse specialties present diners with much more than just ramen. In fact, Salt and Pepper Shrimp with Fried Rice, Deep-Fried Whole Garlic, House Salad and Spicy Menma also have proven to be hits, along with the restaurant’s homemade gyoza ($3.50 for six pieces), which is made fresh every day.

Starting today, this Aiea establishment offers up a two-week special of Garlic Steak for $7.25 ($8.25 regular price) as well. This flavorful entree is a must-try and consists of an 8-ounce New York Steak pan-fried and sliced into bite-sized pieces. To top it off, the steak is adorned with garlic chips, and a side of ponzu sauce is provided for dipping. Accompanying the meal also is a bowl of rice and salad.

In the mood for even more deals? Take advantage of Osaka Ramen’s happy hour specials: Monday through Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m., order a regular meal and receive a free side of four-piece gyoza. Then, from 5 p.m. till closing daily, select beers are priced at $2.
