Start your day right at Fendu Boulangerie for only the best in morning fare. This premier bakery opened its doors in March 2009 in Manoa Marketplace, and thanks to owner and chef Niel Koep, and the rest of his team, the possibilities are endless.

“There are many new and exciting things going on here,” Koep says. “First, we’re now open on Mondays and second, we also are serving breakfast sandwiches.

“Baked goods are great for breakfast, but if you want something a little more substantial then our breakfast sandwiches are the way to go,” he adds with a smile.

If you’re still rubbing the sleep from your tired eyes, you’ll get your morning pick-me-up from one of the many sandwich options including Petite Croissant Sandwich ($5.25), Louisiana Hot Link Sausage and Egg Panini ($7.25), Fendu Breakfast Panini ($7.50) and the most-popular Bacon, Egg and Cheese Panini ($6.75).

“Bacon, Egg and Cheese Panini speaks for itself and is a real classic — people love it,” Koep says. “But Fendu Breakfast Panini and Louisiana Hot Link Sausage and Egg Panini are something a little different, and customers have been picking up on those, too.”

Louisiana Hot Link Sausage and Egg Panini features sauteed hot link sausages and sauteed Yukon potatoes, eggs, Gouda and Cheddar cheese nestled within two slices of fresh French bread, grilled to perfection. Fendu Breakfast Panini presents you with a winning combination of eggs, basil pesto, shallots, fresh mozzarella cheese and morsels of Proscuitto de Parma ham. Is your mouth watering yet?

“We added these sandwiches to our menu about two weeks ago and we’ve been receiving a very good response from customers,” Koep states. “These breakfast sandwiches are affordable, but still upscale.”

Fendu’s entire breakfast sandwich lineup is available from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. daily to make your morning one to remember.
